Guest mfratto
You can also goto the USGS (www.usgs.gov) site and pick up topo 1:24 maps for $4 + shipping. You can get multiple maps for one shipping cost (May be 20?) and they take a few weeks to get to you. I find topozone to be useful is you know the specific location you want to look at, such as when geocahing, but not as easy to use when looking at a more generalized area. Besides, you can't fold them up for the trip. [This message has been edited by mfratto (edited 01 July 2001).] Quote Link to comment
Guest Betty
I just typed "topo maps" carriage return and the search engine brought up 45,368 hits. Take your pick. Quote Link to comment
Guest topografix
The FREE EasyGPS software you can download from Groundspeak has a View Waypoint Online option, which will take you to the appropriate USGS topo map at TopoZone. You may also be interested in ExpertGPS, which gives you full access to the entire set of USGS topo maps and aerial photos. You can download geocaches directly into your GPS using ExpertGPS, and view your tracklogs right on the topo maps.
