johncourage Posted April 2, 2003 Posted April 2, 2003 channy32 and i were recently caching in in maine not far from the bush seniors house in kennebunkport. also there is a navy base around there. has anyone heard of possible satellite signals being scrambled around military bases. this happened on 3/20 thru 3/22..i have a magellan 315 and a magellan platinum both were giving readins apprx 600 feet apart from each other at the cache site my closest reading was over 300 ft off.. This is especially likely if the area you were caching in had cliffs, buildings, or other objects which could reflect the signal (even power lines can cause this), causing your GPS to give a false reading.
