Guest k2dave
I don't even know if you can but probabally there is some overlap. The WAAS sats not only act to provide correction but are themselves gps sats. I would think looking to both wouldn't help and might only hurt since you will be recieving the same correction info twice and you would be using 2 sats that are very low on the horizon and IIRC much lower in altitude then normal gps sats. Is it possible to lock onto the WAAS sat and only use it for correction and let the gps chose 4 other sats for position? Quote Link to comment
Guest bwolv
I think it's possible... My unit's manual says it can track up to two WAAS PRN's. But I'm not in a geographical area to try it. The WAAS East PRN is 54 west longitude, the WAAS west PRN is located at 178 East longitude. (Both 0 latitude of course) That would mean the best chance of dual coverage along Longitude 118 west, closer to the equater the better. Anybody in LA/San Diego tried it yet? Quote Link to comment
