+user13371
Has anyone been able to collect on this rebate offer? The coupon was briefly linked to Magellan's page advertising the SporTrak Pro GPS. The PDF file is still there as I type this, though the link is no longer visible anywhere on Magellan/Thales website. I think they made some mistake posting the coupon and perhaps the offer was never approved to be made public. There are problems with how the coupon prints (tiny font, wierd colored backgrounds, and the name/address lines come out misaligned) -- makes me think whoever put it together didn't have time to check their work. But it WAS posted on their site for a while at least, and I wonder if they're still honouring it? The complete text of the offer follows. Notice even though it says "subject to change without notice," by the original wording it would still be valid for several more months: --- Magellan SporTrakPro Rebate Offer Receive: A $25 rebate check by mail with purchase of Magellan SporTrak Pro receiver. Instructions: 1. Buy a Magellan® SporTrak Pro hand-held receiver between May 1, 2002 and May 30, 2003. 2. crash23
I have the rebate and plan to send it in. But, realized that I didn't have the UPC from the GPS, so I sent them an email to find out if I could send something else instead (s/n of GPS,etc). No response after about 2 weeks. I have to give them a call. I will let you know if I get any info when I call them. Quote Link to comment
TeamOzone
Only rebate that I know of for the SporTrak is the $50 one if you buy MapSend Topo or MapSend S&D with it. This is a different coupon, and is advertised in the banner bars at the bottom of thier home page. This is the one we did. Sent it in, but haven't received the check yet. Quote Link to comment
+user13371
Success, almost! According to http://www.wheresmyrebate.com, my rebate request was denied because I mailed it after the offer expired. I phoned and emailed, gave them a link to the original coupon, which showed the offer valid through MAY 2003... http://www.magellangps.com/assets/chase.pdf ... and they said they would re-submit it. Today, it finally shows on their status page as APPROVED. But get this: I bought the GPS late in June, mailed the rebate coupon on 11 July -- and the estimating mailing date for the check is projected as 13 October. This may be the last time I go for a mail-in rebate on ANYTHING -- hardly worth the hassle and delays. Quote Link to comment
