Guest Dave P
What's a good number for how many "hits" a cache gets? One of mine has been logged 9 times in two weeks. But it is in a heavily populated, urban area. What is the reaspose for other caches? Quote Link to comment
Guest Exocet
Dave, I recently did a bit of research on that exact subject. I examined caches with ID's 600 through 650, which were placed two months ago. It appears as though urban-area caches or caches placed in city parks can expect to get anywhere from 10-15 visits on average and 15-20 if the cache seems to be very popular. A rural cache can expect to get around 0-4 visits per month. These stats will change as more people discover geocaching, but I suspect that rural caches will always receive less visits than their urban counterparts. Quote Link to comment
Guest cache_ninja
i think there are more variables than that (urban vs. rural)..it really depends on a lot of things.. for instance, there are 8 million people in NYC, many caches, much press, and very few visits, if any... c/n [This message has been edited by cache_ninja (edited 04-11-2001).] Quote Link to comment
