Ninja Vanish
me and my brother hid a cache but logged it under his account. every time i search for caches in my area from my account, our cache pops up like i never found it. in my cache page it says i have zero caches hidden, is there a way i can get credit for this one? +welch
No, the system allows only one user to be the owner (get credit). Unless this is changed, the only thing I might suggest is starting a 'team' account and using that. But it will still show up as unfound for other user accounts, even if they are also yours. Ninja Vanish
would it be in bad taste to just log it, because its really annoying seeing it every time Quote Link to comment
+WaldenRun
As discussed in other threads, the general consensus is that it is bad form to log a find for a cache that you helped hide. -WR "Besides physical caches, we have VIRTUal and VIRTUeless." Quote Link to comment
+Smitherington
Others have done it just to get it off the list. I prefer not to but that is my preference. I don't necessarily try to find every cache. Some are not the type I want to do so I don't care what is on my first page. Others want to find every one. Quote Link to comment
+Mr. Snazz
Seeing caches that I placed with a friend, but logged under his account, are a reminder to me for us to check up on them. So, in a way, its nice to have it on the list Quote Link to comment

So either get used to the cache being on your not found list, or log it found and 'live' with a faked find. And no, logging a note, DNF, or SBA won't get it off the not yet found list. +Trudy & the beast
After you have logged a sufficient number of caches, you will probably start doing your cache searches in another zip code. The unlogged cache will no longer be such a thorn in your side. You can learn to live with it since it will lose it;s significance. It only bothers you because you are still starting your cache searches from your home on outward. I once thought I had erred, but I was mistaken. Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
I have one of those. A cache I helped hide with another geocacher is near the top of my list. I've gotten used to looking at it. I guess the only way to avoid this is to make sure any caches you hide with another cacher is far away, so its at the bottom of your list. It would be nice if there was an ignore option so you can check off caches that you aren't interested in hunting for whatever reason and they won't show. +MountainMudbug
Ignore option..... sounds like a good idea to me. There's a cache I never will hunt, for whatever reason, that I'd like to get off my page. 'Ignore' would be a nice feature. ______________________________________________________________________ Remember that happiness is a way of travel, not a destination. - Roy M. +MeeMaw
I LOVE the idea of an ignore option. I like to do easy caches, so there is no way I would do a 5/5, or even a 4/4, so it would be nice to be able to ignore caches I've decided I'd never attempt. Quote Link to comment

Nah, it's probably just easier to move at least 100 miles outside of that cache's radius. Quote Link to comment
+Mopar
Logging it as a find is really lame. How hard is it to find something you hid? Only thing worse are the ones who log another find on it every time they check on it. Instead, use the fact that its there for you to see instead of adding it to your watch list. Every time you see it, look at the date it was last found. You'll be able to see if there was a recent find and click it to go check out the new logs.
