Guest bunkerdave
Is that where you and me find a cache at the same time and sit there and talk about caching for an hour? Quote Link to comment

Mmm, now that's actually a good idea! With my Palm and Nokia I can run all my typical internet applications including IRC. 9600 bps mind you. But it works fine. So how about a Geocaching.com IRC server for "when you find it" chats! ------------------ Peter Scholtz www.biometrics.co.za Quote Link to comment

Guest ClayJar
A possible IRC conversation? ClayJar> I still don't see it. Stasher> See the big rock in the clearing? ClayJar> Yeah, I'm on it. Stasher> Okay, now go 35 feet due north. ClayJar> ... ClayJar> It's not here. Stasher> Are you by the half-dead tree? ClayJar> Um, yeah. Stasher> Look under the rocks by the base. ClayJar> Oh, *under* the rocks? *** Stasher has left #Geocaching *** Quote Link to comment

Guest zilla
Good idea peter.. If only I knew how to create a GeoCaching.com IRC server?? I know just enough about IRC to be dangerous.. If anyone knows how to do this go for it.. Just let us know when, where etc.. [This message has been edited by zilla (edited 02 July 2001).] Quote Link to comment
Guest IronHelix
IIRC, someone created #geocaching on DALnet. IRC.dal.net, dalnet has great services (chanserv, nickserv, etc) Quote Link to comment
Guest Gossamyrrh
there is also a #geocaching on EFnet, although the only thing I ever find in there is a bot. Quote Link to comment
Guest jeremy
It would probably be better to arrange a specific time for folks to meet in a chat room. I doubt people are in the mindset to lurk on an IRC channel all day long in search for someone to chat geocaching with. I think there's a better chance to meet a geocacher on a trail than in a chat room. My $.02 Jeremy Quote Link to comment

Guest cliffy
Hell ya!!!!!!! I've been an avid mIRC user for at least 3 years...... I'd definetly be into that. It'd be kinda neat to actually see everyone's personality come out in real time Quote Link to comment
