How many states/countries under your belt?

Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, and a not-found in Louisiana.

Most of the out-of-state caches were found on a roadtrip I took last summer down the Great River Road. I've noticed, by the way, that there are substantially more caches along that route than there were when I took my trip.

Ha Ha! It depends on whether you count "anywhere" caches...

I've found caches in Washington, Oregon, and New York.

I've found "anywhere" caches "in" Indiana, Australia, and Ohio. icon_smile.gif

Two countries: USA and France

Two states: California and Nevada (it's hard to drive out of California [ icon_smile.gif])

So far, I'm boycotting the "anywhere" caches (just a personal choice). Actually, I did do one, but I decided not to log it.

Too bad I hadn't known about Geocaching a year earlier. I went on trips to D.C./Virginia/Maryland, Florida, and Georgia last year before I lost my job.

I have hidden caches in three states, my home state of Pennsylvania, plus New Jersey and New York.

I have found caches in Maryland, Delaware, and Maine.

I have also found one cache in the Canadian province of New Brunswick.

I guess those of use in the small eastern states have a better chance to visit the next state.

What were you doing in Italy?

I'm planning on going there this summer and placing a cache on, near, or in Etna.

made when the lava near the outside of the tube cools and turns solid and the hot lava inside flows out. They would be a nice place for a cache but during the rainy season (winter) they tend to fill with water.

I don't mean to discurage you, just in my opinion a physical cache on Etna would require very thought out placement (culture and climate) and someone to visit it every couple of months to make sure it is still healthy.

What am I doing on Sicily?

I work at the NATO base.

I have found traditionals in MI, OH, WI, and CA (honeymmon!), and couch potato caches in Vermont and Maine, as well as Germany. I'll be adding in traditional in Pennsylvain, Maryland, Deleware, Vermont, and Indiana this summer from vacation traveling, wife permitting.

Okay this post has geek written all over it. Okay so I'm a geek.

I borrowed an idea from KidCrazy and started listing my finds by state/country on my profile. One of my long term goals is log a cache in every state. Just something fun to do to keep things interesting. All of my cacches found are physical.

So far 15 states and two countries. I'm going to Germany in October -- I hope to add a few more countries. I'm invited to a lot of conventions and I used to have them fly me out. The past year or so I've been driving with the express purpose of caching on the way there and back.

This is what I currently have;

Arkansas 1

Illinois 132

Indiana 81

Iowa 1

Kentucky 1

Ohio 6

Minnesota: 3

Mississipi 2

New Hampshire 2

New York 4

North Dakota: 2

Pennsylvania 1

Tennessee 2

Vermont 2

Wisconsin 1

Canada Manitoba 3

Canada Ontario 2

USA = 11 or 13 states

TN, HI, MO, IN, PA, VA, NJ, IL, MS, WA, OK, + a single cache at the OK/TX/NM border point.

Other = 12 or 15, depending on whether you count provinces separately

Canada (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Alberta, & Ontario)

Australia (New South Wales)

Netherlands

Sweden

Denmark

Thailand

Hong Kong

Taiwan

China

Fiji

Puerto Rico

Germany

Also placed one in Turkey (does that count for another country?)

In the process, I've accumulated 183,493.5 geocaching miles according to my personal travel bug. But that will jump by another 4000+ miles when I log my next cache in a few days.

Hence, the name. icon_biggrin.gif

Hey, Uplink! Good to hear from you. Sure, go ahead and grab all the "vec" you want - it's cheap. icon_wink.gif I enjoyed searching for that cache with you. Maybe I'll see you again when I return to the Seattle area in a few months.
