Ok dont flame me I looked for it first and all I saw was for a Pocket PC or Palm ect..

 

I am looking for a stand alone, hint decoder/ encripter for the geohints. It needs to run on a PC. I downloaded one and it is so slow and unstable.. Any ideas.

Do a web search for 'ROT13' and take your pick. ROT13 is used outside of geocaching and there are lots of utils out there. I prefer the online java based ones myself.

Thanks all... I am giving email hints to some of my caches and dont want to tell them everyting. But I dont want them to go into the field and be stumped again.

 

So I am sending the email with coded hints to the exact area... so when they are in the field they can decode as much as the need and still keep it fun for them. And the will not need to call off the cache for another day...

You could just print this and put it in your pocket.

 

Decryption KeyA|B|C|D|E|F|G|H|I|J|K|L|M-------------------------N|O|P|Q|R|S|T|U|V|W|X|Y|Z(letter above equals below,and vice versa)

 

A bit easier then turning a wheel IMHO.

You didn't like mine? icon_frown.gif Did it not work for you? It might require a separate DLL, but I'm pretty sure I compiled it as a stand-alone app. If you tried it and it complained about a missing DLL file, let me know and I'll fix it.

Try Encryptix. Does all the normal stuff, understands the use of [brackets], allows selective encoding/decoding, paragraph reformatting, one-click clipboard support, and also understands the alternate hint encoding scheme used by "that other geocaching site". Freeware.

Glad you like it. Release v1.1.0 just went up. Not a big change, just a few additional editing functions.
