+yummykaz Posted July 22, 2003 Posted July 22, 2003 I think when I hit someone's profile it would say which caches they found. Maybe I am imagining that or just have seen them on other caches I found. There is a cacher in my area that leaves a certain item I love to find. It is not a monetary thing but a piece of art she makes. I really like them. I don't want to email her and say ..." um...where will you be geo-caching this week?"... That seems creepy to me! So my question is...is there a way to "see" where this cacher may have cached? ( like that is NOT creepy!) Also,,is it fair in the game, to return to a cache you visited/found already? For example if someone places something you wantto trade for or a travel bug you want to travel with...is it ok to return and swap? thanks for all the help...Becki Quote
+Renegade Knight Posted July 22, 2003 Posted July 22, 2003 Look in their profile. It will show you their most recent caches. You might have to click again on the traditional icon or thereabouts to get the list. Stalking is when you go to where they are. I don't know what you call when you go to where they have been. Quote
+leatherman Posted July 22, 2003 Posted July 22, 2003 Yeah. Your just going where she has been. Not following her. Pepper playing nice! Mokita! Quote
+Og's outfit Posted July 22, 2003 Posted July 22, 2003 What IS this elusive prize you seek? Maybe you are wrong to want to horde all these sigs' to yourself? There IS a way to see the most recent caches a cacher has found, but I'm not going to tell you! LOL I guess if the item is very sought after you could re-visit a cache to snag it without punishment. All you have to live with is your conscience. hehe Maybe you could contact the maker of these coveted items and ask how they do it? Or maybe see if you could do it yourself? Please keep in mind everything I've written here is pure conjecture. OG Prophetically Challenged (or is that Pathetically?) Quote

martmann Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 The hider of these items you seek may wish to have many cachers find her art, instead of one following her around snagging them all. Something to consider. _________________________________________________________ If trees could scream, would we still cut them down? Well, maybe if they screamed all the time, for no reason. +walkietalkie Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 How about stalking your own cache? Some geocachers found my cache, the first ones I might add. According to the log they on here, they left a GeoCache Playlist CD from the CD trading cache in Anchorage. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=bb49d7b2-8cb7-478d-a059-b11f6583fcf3 I'm very tempted to want to hear it. I won't keep it, I'd just like to borrow it for an hour or so. I havn't visited it yet to be too tempted. ~singing~Making a living the old hard way Taking and giving day by day Digging the snow and rain and the bright sunshine ---Caching the Line I feel fine I'm talking about peace of mind I'm gonna take my time Caching the Line La La La La La La La Caching the Line Quote
Eeyore and Shadow Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 OK thats just a little too freaky obsessive. And I know my sig items aren't worth much but considering the time I put into hand making every one, I would be pretty irritated if the same person kept following me around and collecting them all. I would quit making then thats for certain. Eeyore A rocking chair or a porch swing with an old person in it is a histroy lesson. Quote
+yummykaz Posted July 23, 2003 Author Posted July 23, 2003 Thanks for the answers. The elusive items are: little decorated ceramic pots, like to put a seedling in. I love my garden and I like to add unique items to it. I have emailed the cacher/artist and told her how much I love those pots she makes. I never thought about "sharing" with others. What a good thought. I think I will do that! Sharing sounds better than stalking someone's dust! Quote
+flask Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 one of our locals leaves handpainted rocks as a signature. fortunately she is prolific enough that we have the opportunity to collect AND share.most of us can't seem to part with them once we have them. i know more than one cacher who displays them at home. i still carry mine in my bag as if i'm going to trade them. yeah. as if. it doesn't matter if you get to camp at one or at six. dinner is still at six. +haggaeus Posted July 24, 2003 Posted July 24, 2003 Anyway, it would be nice to have a link 'Watch this cacher' at user profile, similar one as we have for caches and travel bugs - could be used for people leaving interesting logs, competing first finders, cachers approaching a milestone count, etc. Czech caching in US.
