+Jamie Z Posted March 7, 2003 Posted March 7, 2003 Here's mine: The red lines on the bottom show daily totals, the green line is cumulative total. Current as of the day of this post. PaterQuest is at the 440 day mark, and the unnamed caching trip is at 600. Jamie [This message was edited by Jamie Z on March 07, 2003 at 02:05 PM.] Quote

+evergreenhiker! Posted March 8, 2003 Posted March 8, 2003 Here's mine...total 436 caches. I've divided into cache types and by month. Best month was November at 53 caches. Lowest was one...my first month of caching...Feb. 2002. Average just a shade over 31 caches a month and success rate is around 89 percent...nonweighed mean though...weighted it would be higher. 3 of the caches had several DNFs tied to them. +fizzymagic Posted March 9, 2003 Posted March 9, 2003 quote:Originally posted by hammack:Where did you get this data? It was actually pretty easy. I went back to caches I found, noted the cache number (it's the number in the URL) and the date it was placed. For more recent caches, which are almost certainly still active, I just went in increments of 2000 or so and found the date placed again. I thought about adding a chart to show that it's not exponential growth in case the inevitable question came up, so here it is: a semi-log graph of the data. Note that exponential growth would appear as a straight line on this chart. Quote
+Markwell Posted March 10, 2003 Posted March 10, 2003 I've had a similar chart on my FAQ for about a year now - and I periodically update it. I used the same method to gather the data. Of course the problem with just using the numbers is that it doesn't take into account caches that were never approved. Those shouldn't enter in to this total, but they will. Markwell Chicago Geocaching P.S. - now that the title of this thread has been edited. My first post doesn't really make sense. Used to be "Show me your charts" Quote

+regoarrarr Posted March 11, 2003 Posted March 11, 2003 So, I did a little numbers crunching, but I don't feel like making a graph, so you'll have to deal with just the raw numbers. +-----------+-------+ | dayname | found | +-----------+-------+ | Saturday | 107 | | Friday | 47 | | Thursday | 46 | | Monday | 43 | | Wednesday | 35 | | Tuesday | 27 | | Sunday | 7 | +-----------+-------+ So it can be seen that (obviously) Saturday is the #1 day for caching for me, which makes sense. Also it makes sense that Sunday is last, since I very rarely will cache on Sundays. I would have expected that the weekdays would be pretty evenly distributed, so it's interesting that Tuesday (and to a lesser extent Wednesday) lag behind. +------------+-------+ | dayofmonth | found | +------------+-------+ | 26 | 34 | | 8 | 24 | | 1 | 21 | | 20 | 20 | | 27 | 18 | | 23 | 13 | | 3 | 12 | | 30 | 12 | | 4 | 12 | | 5 | 12 | | 19 | 10 | | 29 | 10 | | 15 | 10 | | 18 | 9 | | 9 | 9 | | 10 | 8 | | 28 | 8 | | 17 | 7 | | 21 | 7 | | 2 | 7 | | 22 | 6 | | 7 | 6 | | 31 | 6 | | 16 | 6 | | 24 | 5 | | 12 | 5 | | 6 | 4 | | 14 | 4 | | 13 | 4 | | 25 | 2 | | 11 | 1 | +------------+-------+ The 26th of the month leads the way, with 34 finds, buoyed by December 26ths with 21, including my all time high day of 19 found, on Dec. 26, 2002. Poor 11th with only 1. In fact, given that today is a Tuesday, AND the 11th, you'd think I'd be out there caching so that I could catch those guys back up!! +-----------+-------+ | month | found | +-----------+-------+ | December | 69 | | March | 40 | | January | 35 | | July | 30 | | April | 28 | | September | 27 | | November | 26 | | August | 18 | | February | 13 | | June | 11 | | October | 11 | | May | 4 | +-----------+-------+ +-----------+------+-------+ | month | year | found | +-----------+------+-------+ | December | 2002 | 39 | | March | 2003 | 30 | | December | 2001 | 30 | | April | 2002 | 28 | | July | 2002 | 27 | | September | 2002 | 26 | | November | 2002 | 18 | | January | 2003 | 18 | | August | 2002 | 18 | | January | 2002 | 17 | | February | 2002 | 12 | | June | 2002 | 11 | | March | 2002 | 10 | | November | 2001 | 8 | | October | 2001 | 6 | | October | 2002 | 5 | | May | 2002 | 4 | | July | 2001 | 3 | | September | 2001 | 1 | | February | 2003 | 1 | +-----------+------+-------+ Very interesting that May has only 4 caches found. December leads the way with the top 2 months - Dec. 2002 with 39 and Dec. 2001 with 30. Though March 2003 already has 30 and will likely soon take over the lead, seeing how it's only a third of the way through. +------------+-------+ | logdate | found | +------------+-------+ | 2002-12-26 | 19 | | 2003-03-08 | 17 | | 2002-07-01 | 13 | | 2002-12-23 | 11 | | 2002-07-20 | 9 | | 2002-04-19 | 8 | | 2001-12-22 | 6 | | 2001-12-27 | 6 | | 2002-04-27 | 6 | | 2002-11-26 | 5 | | 2002-11-30 | 5 | | 2002-08-30 | 5 | | 2002-08-31 | 5 | | 2003-01-01 | 5 | | 2002-06-29 | 5 | +------------+-------+ I spared you from the full 122 different dates (out of 607 days since my first log on July 13, 2001) that I have found a cache. Instead these are the 15 dates that I've found at least 5. 315 found out of 607 days is just over 1 cache every 2 days. There have actually only been 8 different dates that I've found at least one cache in more than one year. Jan. 4th - 1 in 2002, 2 in 2003 Jan. 14th - 1 in 2002, 2 in 2003 Jan. 21st - 2 in 2002, 1 in 2003 Feb. 13th - 2 in 2002, 1 in 2003 Mar. 3rd - 1 in 2002, 1 in 2003 Mar. 4th - 1 in 2002, 2 in 2003 Mar. 10th - 1 in 2002, 1 in 2003 Dec. 26th - 2 in 2001, 19 in 2002 My next opportunity to double up will be next Tuesday, the 18th - I found 3 caches on Mar. 18th, 2002.
