'Cache In Trash Out' Pix

I'd rather like to see the pix sent in for the 'cache in / trash out' I don't have a digital camera, and I am a mess when it comes to using a camera. I forget it alot, and then forget to use it if I do bring it with me. When I placed the 'Crab Creek Cache' http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=2156

I pulled 3 bags of trash and a barnicle encrusted bicycle with a baby seat. A couple was enjoying the view after work while I was there, they helped me with the bike. We came to the conclusion that someone 'had a few too many' and and swiped it... There are no trash cans, but I managed to flag down a Yarmouth Water Department truck that picked up the debris. (I ride a bike there, no back seat) I have used a dumped tire as a point of reference for the cache.... ICK ! I think I'll get rid of it pronto. The area is popular for crabbing, unfortunately that brings chicken packaging trash.

Geocachers have been very good to my area, some people have dropped $ to the non-profit windmill (Big W #2831). The Historical Society is rather happy with 'Cachers. I take fishing line home in my pockets. On occaision, I find a fishing lure.

I hope all Cachers do as well.

A lovely sack of trash from the Chisenhall Tower cache trail (a nice walk, by the way). You miss out on the heavier items (like the empty booze bottle) since they wind up in the bottom of the sack.

Well forgot to take a pic again, but I picked up a small quantity of trash on my way out of the "Parr-ty On!!" cache. The trail was actually pretty clean. Worse were the playground and soccer practice fields that were actively in use during my visit. They seemed to have little concern for messing their own space.

Here's the take from one of today's caches, Horseshoe Trails. The paved trail that leads most of the way to the cache was really clean. The trash was all gathered within 75 feet of the cache, because the area is a place where folks would naturally linger, gather, etc. Most interesting item? A plastic carton that had once held Tyson chicken livers... fish bait!

Today we hauled out significant amounts of trash at two cache sites, The Las Colinas Lunch Hour (note the hacked up garden hose)

and later in the day, Flagpole Hill. Flagpole Hill's bag of trash filled the 5 gallon bucket we picked up along the way and surrounded it as well. There were a couple of 40-ouncers in there, one complete with rotting label and plain brown sack wrapper.

Pardon me for falling behind posting pics. I'll post notes today with the pictures taken the past couple of weekends. I hope others are submitting pics to Jeremy, whether or not they wish to post here. I realize he has *PLENTY* to do, and if he doesn't get enough pics, there's no need to bump this feature up the list. Hope we'll all show both sides, fun and responsible!

These pics come from our day at http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=8853. We picked up three bags of trash, and as we were bundling up the last of it to head home, Geoferret found a bottle cap on the ground next to the truck. She came running to us waving it and yelling, "Another trash! Another trash!" The pic shows her demonstrating where trash belongs.

And our feature item for this cache...

Brokenwing's dedication to retrieving trash shows on his jeans and boots. In an intrepid effort to collect garbage caught up in brush in a creek near http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=9103, he slipped and went in nearly to his knees. Water filled his boots, and knowing he was pretty well done, he just waded to several more previously unreachable spots and cleared them of trash. Noteable here was the odd round object. It might be part of a filter system, the back off a mirror, or???

Last post for today, trash gathered from the walk to and from http://img.Groundspeak.com/cache/log/105640_300.JPG. Feature item is the highly fashionable "handbag" modeled by Sister Clovis. She discovers its packing strap and concrete design do not solve the problem of keys migrating to the bottom of one's purse. tongue.gif

Stopped by one of our caches today for some quick maintenance. While Brokenwing made the cache adjustment, GeoFerret and I started picking up trash and he came along to help us complete the task. Items found included some 12" flooring tiles in a marbled pink pattern and a page from some kid's report on King Arthur and the Camelot legend. Note the irony in the picture! Trash out!

I've left my fair share of trash (in bags) in the backseats of various rental cars while I've either been hiking or caching. I carry a shopping bag with me and then just let the kind folks at Hertz dump it in the can for me if I can't find someplace to put it nearby the parking lot.

From Longview's First, a stop on our trek home from Thanksgiving with family. GeoFerret kept pointing out the "trashes" she was seeing, so we picked up while Brokenwing was hunting (we take turns finding). A variety of food related trash, including box that had held 2 dozen donuts.

Here's a shot from Two Trees with a message cache we picked up a couple of big bags, and left a handfull of new trashbags in the cache itself to keep it going. Also made a new friend while there!

You go ahead and put it that request. I'll tell Brokenwing you said he has cute legs tongue.gif

Hey, I least I give you something besides simply bags of trash to look at in some of my pics! Besides, if I bump this topic to the top often enough, it'll soon be populated with pics of C-troop's bunch, yourself, and hopefully others. That or if lots of pics come in Jeremy will shuffle his crushing workload to get an auto-submit CITO page online!

Seth, you don't happen to have an older brother named James who was called JimJon by younger siblings do you? Just thought I'd ask...

Here's one from last weekend. The "item of note" this time is certainly different in an oddball way than many I find. It is prominently displayed atop the other trash:

166903_300.JPG

It's the collar AND button placket from a knit polo/golf shirt! I it found dangling from a branch 7 feet up into a tree covered with HUGE (3 inches +) thorns. Strange!
