Ideas?

Recommended Posts

Guest geospotter

I did some computer work for someone recently and he has kindly offered to return the favor. His business is printing paper bags (paper only) and silk-screening T-shirts (he could probably silk-screen other items, but I know he has the shirts in stock).

I'd like to get something to do with Geocaching, but I can't think of anything other than a "My parents went Geocaching and all they got me was this lousy T-shirt" sort of idea. So I call on the infinite wisdom of this group for ideas.

Remember, he can't do plastic bags so the "Cache in/Trash out" bag idea probably wouldn't work since the paper bags are too large to fold into a cache.

As a reward, I'll send one of the items to the one who comes up with the idea I use.

Put on your thinking caps...

Tee shirts, eh?? For enjoyment of Haiku poetry, perhaps you could use:

*

Be one with the cache

Search high, search low - don't give up

Where is that dadgum cache?!?!

*

Haiku = the division of 17 syllables into three groups of 5, 7, and 5 syllables.

Of course you could substitute a more 'pc' word for 'dadgum' considering it is 1 syllable. Good luck with your venture and happy caching! Ciao!

I search for a box

Hidden deep in the forest

This cache eludes me

===================

Use coordinates

Find box in the wilderness

Go find another

how about the logo?

Or "Found It!" on the front and "Didn't Find It!" on the back?

or a picture of an ammo can with "www.geocaching.com" stenciled on it

or "Cache-Bagger" or "Cache Hunter" blazoned right across the chest

Markwell, you're a natural! Love your haikus!

Here's my attempt:

GPS on hand

Crossing streams climbing mountains

Find cache log entry

How about a Haiku Haiku?

It takes too much time

To count Haiku syllables

Words don't even rhyme!

Any more ideas like King Pellinore's?

How about a variation on the "My parents went Geocaching and all they got me was this lousy T-shirt" theme.

Tenami,

I actually laughed out loud when I read your idea. I love it.

If that's what I go with, I'll have them printed in small children's sizes, perfect for stashing in caches.

I'll give it a couple more days before I decide. Any other ideas?

That's the point ... it follows the age old art of "_____s do it _______" bumper stickers. ... By the way, Brenna ... yours is ten times funnier than mine ... I was drawing a blank and the accuracy thing was as good (lame?) as I could think up on the spot.

I got that. I was talking about another-nother way. Unit in hand. Think......... OH! I'll leave it at this so that I don't destroy, pollute, or poison the minds of the young and/or impressionable.

..or you could support Jeremy and geocaching.com by purchasing the t-shirts, cache decals, window decals, etc. that are already designed. The "Do it within 19 feet of accuracy" idea would be a great conversation starter!

Since this shirt's a "gimme", though, other suggestions:

1.) "If found, please return me to (home coordinates)".

2.) Have a huge travel bug printed on it. Stick it in a cache along with a disposable camera and laundry marker. As each finder takes it to a new location, they sign their name on the shirt, take their picture with it on and pass it on. There are many caches though that are already so full, no t-shirt would fit.

3.) "Old Geocachers never die. We just get archived."
