+Rygel
Can anyone recommend a decent set of Family radios for around $75? Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine. Quote Link to comment
+t. shuffle
I don't think you can go wrong with Motorola. We have a set of the 5420's that work great. Paid about $60-$70 for a pair, came with a charger and a set of nicads. Quote Link to comment
+Rygel
Thanks. I just got a pair from Amazon for $25 after rebate. Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine. Quote Link to comment

+JohnnyVegas
I use ham radios, the test is easy and lic. is only $10.00 for 10 years, and with repeater use I am not limited to line of sight. Quote Link to comment

It's been awhile since I purchased my Yaesu 2m HT, but I'm pretty sure that you can't buy a pair of ham radio handhelds for "...around $75...". Quote Link to comment

But Yaesus are real radios that will work in a lot of places where FRS and GMRS will not. Of course if you get a GMRS radio that will work a repeater thats another story, even more expensive than a Ham Radio. Quote Link to comment
