I was watching Nasa TV today, and the show today was on Earthquakes. Apparently they are using precise GPS readings in Millimeters, and they have these remote stations in several places. These GPS units measure deforming and movement of the earth's crust over time, but not the actual Quakes.

Our GPS units don't even compare to these.
