+jeff35080
Don't you just hate it when someone visits your cache and leaves pepper spray Check out the logs on this cache of mine: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=50047 Jeff http://www.StarsFellOnAlabama.com http://www.NotAChance.com If you hide it, they will come.... +carleenp
Here is a cache that was sprayed with pepper spray. Of course the same effect could happen if spray was left in a cache and broke. Quote Link to comment

Hmmm.... I've never even seen the stuff before. Now I'm going to have to get some and check it out. Wherever you go there you are. Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
Actually, I'd be quite happy to find pepper spray in a cache. It's a useful item...but then again, I'm the kind of whacko who would be happy to find a Swiss Army knife, or Leatherman tool in a cache, so don't listen to me. +Rygel
Looks like it was his first cache. Makes you wonder what else he plans to put in! Quote Link to comment
+jeff35080
find a Swiss Army knife, or Leatherman tool in a cache A Swiss Army Knife and Leatherman tool aren't likely to leak CS and OC into my cache container in the 100 degree Alabama sunlight. I have no problems with knives or lighers, but pepper spray is a whole other subject. I carry pepper spray as part of my job and and certified to use it i.e. have been sprayed with it and attended several classes about its proper use. It just has no business in one of my caches. Cheers! Jeff http://www.StarsFellOnAlabama.com http://www.NotAChance.com If you hide it, they will come.... Quote Link to comment
+southdeltan
I'm glad you brought this up. I know rules on here are getting a bit out of hand, but pepper spray is considered a weapon and shouldn't be left in a cache. Someone should email the person (he said he left pepperspray in his post) and nicely suggest he not do that again. SouthDeltan Quote Link to comment
+The Leprechauns
I see that the pepper spray was left by a newbie on his first find. Interesting choice of cache swag! I remember when we discovered the site, it was a mad dash to collect happy meal toys and office supplies to leave at the first few caches we visited. What kind of person would discover the site and say "wow, I think I'll leave some pepper spray in this geocache thing." By the way, Jeff, that is a great cache page. Thanks for the history lesson. It reminded me of some caches near me that highlight the history of mining and iron furnaces in Western PA. x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x I was formerly employed by the Department of Redundancy Department, but I don't work there anymore. +Dersu
I agree pepper sray is not kid friendly. Could this not have been handled without making a public issue of it? Certainly a NEWBIE did it, but why not just email the person and handle it that way? The issue could have been brought up here without a link to the cache. Now this person is marked. IMHO I have flouted the wild, I have followed its lure, fearless. familar, alone; yet the wild must win, and a day will come when I shall be overthrown. By: Robert Service Quote Link to comment
+rayt333
Did you trade up or down when you removed the pepper spray? ;> Quote Link to comment
