umc Posted September 29, 2002 Posted September 29, 2002 I have a question for you all because I just spent the last hour and a half typing my 'Cachew Nuts Prison' thread twice. I wrote the thread and went to click the post button when I got an error message stating that name is a required field or something of the like. So I clicked on the back link like it said and that just put me to the main forum page forcing me to lose all of my post. I was extremely angry (extreme as in the lenght of the post) So I'm just wondering if anyone else has encountered this before and why the heck it happend. Also a message to everyone make sure you do a copy and paste if you are posting something that takes longer than usual in order to backup your work. ______________________________________________________________________________________ The 'idiot' who should be banned because he likes to spend all day annoying people while drinking beer. The Artful Dodger Posted September 29, 2002 Posted September 29, 2002 Yep. You will learn (as did I) that there is a limit on the log length before Geocaching pukes at you for too long a length. COPYING the text before hitting the Submit button for lengthy logs are the norm now... Quote
umc Posted September 29, 2002 Author Posted September 29, 2002 Have you also noticed that you can't upload oversized pics now and have the site resize them for you? Now you are required to resize the pics before you upload them. I posted this in another thread on one of the other forums but figure since this on gets the most traffic might as well ask here too. ______________________________________________________________________________________ The 'idiot' who should be banned because he likes to spend all day annoying people while drinking beer. +Gimpy Posted September 29, 2002 Posted September 29, 2002 As far as I know, it's always been that way. Here's a link to a real neat small utility that will easily & quickly shrink the pics down to an appropriate size. http://www.irfanview.com/ .Irfanview works great & is free. "Gimpy" Quote

umc Posted September 29, 2002 Author Posted September 29, 2002 I've been using Irfanview for quite some time now so thanks for posting the link because I think that is a program that everyone should own. Just recently I remember uploading some pics and it did it for me. Maybe it was a dream who knows. ______________________________________________________________________________________ The 'idiot' who should be banned because he likes to spend all day annoying people while drinking beer.
