12XL entering coordinates????

f I want to enter the coordinates of a cache? I have looked in the book and it has no mention of it. I have heard users of other GPS units say just hit the mark key and then scroll down to the coordinates and hit enter then put in what you want. Well, this won't work on the 12XL you can't highlight the Latitude and Longitude field.

 

Any ideas?

 

The only way I have found is using the Waypoint software and downloading the coordinates as a waypoint.

 

Let's hear from some 12XL users on how you do this.

Hit PAGE until you see the menu. Choose WAYPOINT LIST and press ENTER. Move your cursor to the word "NEW?" at the bottom of the screen and press ENTER. Now you will be able to highlight the lat/lon and enter your coordinates.

I'll check it out when I get home. If that works I thank you VERY MUCH! Have tryed lots of ways but haven't found one yet.

Rather than going to "Waypoint List" go to menu item "Waypoint" and press enter. This will bring up a waypoint of some kind. Go to "New" at bottom of screen and highlight and enter information for cache or wherever.

Gary's right, it's WAYPOINT rather than WAYPOINT LIST. Sorry, I have a III+ now and it's been a while since I used my 12.
