+st_richardson
What kind of hardware? Software? Is one palm pilot better than another for this application? Quote Link to comment
+Renegade Knight
You can run this on the Palm, Pocket PC, and Windows Laptop computer. It's all a matter of which device you like to use. I'm not sure one works better than another... Quote Link to comment
+st_richardson
I might consider purchasing a palm to take geocaching with me if I could download logs and pertinent info to the palm. It might beat printing and carrying sheets of paper. I'm thinking small so I don't want to be hiking in with my laptop. Quote Link to comment
dboggny
i use a palm m500, you can also use a palm m505, m515. i dont know about the product line of other palm based pda's but for some reason i am partial to palm OS SR and dboggny. my mother in law rides a broom! Quote Link to comment
+Crusso
I'm currently using a Visor Prism 8Meg. Only problem is once you start loading software the memory fills up real quick. I invested in an adaptor (Memplug) & a 16 meg card. Mobi files can be pretty big & 4 queries can easily fill your memory w/o any other stuff in there. Quote Link to comment
+RobAGD
I was looking around, I am a sucker for a great color display ( think PocketPC ) but for what I plan on using this thing for I was thinking of a cheap ( so if I break it ) palm, with the 8mb. I saw some referbs at Comp USA for $100 or so. Think is they use an epantion port thats not really CF or anything else. What all do that make for those Expantion port that special or maks i that much more intresting ? -Robert Quote Link to comment
azog
The Sony CLIE has the best color display of any of the PalmOS units. CLIE has a 320x320 display, most of the rest have a 160x160 display. The CLIE is also transreflective, so you can read it in any light condition. I have a PEG-T615C, which has been discontinued in favor of the 660C. You can still find them, and usually a little cheaper. Sony uses their own MemoryStick for memory/expansion. Unless you want something that's more standard, I'd suggest a Palm or Treo because they have SD slots. ---------- I will prepare food with my iron fist! Then I will work my way up to ruling you all with my fist! Quote Link to comment
