This has come up a couple of times now and I have not seen a fix given to change it. I've got a 12 too so have been interested in getting an answer too. Good Luck

I have a Garmin 12, and sadly enough it is not possible to get it to show distance in feet...howerver by changing to Km instead of miles, you can get it down to .01Km which is easy to convert...10 meters = 39ft.

I have a Garmin 12 also. It's pretty easy to convert miles to feet too. .01 miles is about 53 feet. When I get that close I quit using the Go To function and just try to match coords.

When you get down to .01 miles you are usually pretty close to on top of it anyway, but I also start watching my lat/long at that point. .001 mins pretty much equals about 6 ft or so. You could also switch to UTM where the coords are in meters...so 1 meter this way...1 meter that way.

Even though the distance is .00, the Goto compass continues to point towards the actual point so I usually just continue to watch the needle.

If I'm not moving fast enough for it to register, I just hold the G12 so S faces the sun (or whatever direction is roughly appropriate for the time of day) and the needle will then point at the target.
