+weezer Posted June 19, 2002 Share Posted June 19, 2002 I have a Garmin Etrex vista with the data cable that came with it. The problem is the date cable will not plug into my laptop. I have seen that there is an adapter cable so you can plug RS232 into USB. I was wondering if anyone is doing this or has any experence doing this? Thanks Weezer Quote Link to comment
+mookie Posted June 20, 2002 Share Posted June 20, 2002 Yes, these adapter cables work for a lot of people. I use one with my meri-gold and Toshiba laptop. Just plug it in to the laptop and you’ve got a serial (com) port. I bought mine from buy.com for $22. There are several brands, most between $20-30.
