VegasMan
With the basics of the standard etrek, all I want to do is be able to make a list of waypoints and send them to the etrek...maybe grab the ones in the etrek and edit them, etc. The etrek doesnt do true maps (I think ) so is there some other simple software program that allows for simple editting of the waypoints other than the $80 map program? Seems silly to have to use a map program when I cant put the maps on the device. I know I can use the maps to generate waypoint lists, but I bought a basic unit and only need basic waypoint editting ... any ideas? thx, Kevin ...just learning... Quote Link to comment
+happycycler
Have you looked at EasyGPS? It is free and gives you some waypoint transfer and editing. If interested take a look at:www.easygps.com I use it with a Brunton MNS which has no mapping. Quote Link to comment
VegasMan
I jsut got easygps and that is exactly what I was looking for. I just cant see spending $80 on map software when my device was only $99 to start with. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
+happycycler
BTW you can use EasyGPS to download cache &/or benchmark coordinates (lat. & lon.) from www.geocaching.com/ which saves some typing (& typos in my case.) I also enjoy GPStrackmaker, it is free and the link is:www.gpstm.com Quote Link to comment
