Garmin's GPS 72--What's new about the 72?

Has anyone taken a look at the new Garmin GPS 72? I'm considering buying a new GPS and Garmin seems to be presenting this as the "next generation" of GPS. However, I really don't see what's so different about this from my eTrex Venture. Apparently it's got audible alarms which while cool don't really merit spending the money.

I check the stats and it doesn't even come with a pc cable. What's up with that?

Does anyone have any other info on this unit? Anyone actually seen them in stores (or in the field) yet?

Thanks,

Bret

The 72 has a few advantages over the venture. The venture has the patch antenna, in the 72 garmin put the quadre-helix antenna which allows much better reception in thicker cover. That alone is a huge benifit to me. Otherwise it has the same memory as your venture. It also floats, and has a bigger screen for those with "older" eyes. I would coose the 72 over the venture, but thats my opinion.

Do you know if the GPS 72 has WAAS capability?

Yep, it does
