+fugowee
Help!! We are new to using a GPS, but were able to figure out the features and set up on our Magellan 315. We recently just purchase the Whistler Galileo GPS 100. Here's my problem. Does anyone know if you can set up the lat/long to read DD* MM.MMM and not DD* MM SS? I spent 3 hours last night trying to figure this out, and came to the conclusion, that this unit is unable to show me the reading the way I want. If anybody knows anything about this unit, I would appreciate the help. Thank you in advance. Quote Link to comment
+Cachetrotters
If the manual doen't tell you how to, then this unit may have a fixed format display. Edit: Found the website, finally. No manual to download. The FAQ says the 100 has 221 different datums in memory. I have to believe that the format can also be changed. It may be burried in a sub-sub menu. Look through them all. Unfortunately, the FAQ also says that this unit is not WAAS or DGPS capable. Pity. don [This message was edited by Cachetrotters on June 14, 2003 at 09:07 AM.] Quote Link to comment
+fugowee
Thanks for the reply Don. Unfortunately I think it has a fixed format. I have searched and searched for a sub-sub menu, but have had no luck. Being a newbie with this GPS stuff I am not sure what WAAS and DGPS means. Is this something important? My Magellan315 has been great. Tough to learn and understand but slowly becoming easier. We bought the Whistler as a second GPS to have when we take the kids to search for caches. I was getting sick of them arguing who was going to hold the GPS. Anyway, I am going to call The Whistler Group on Monday, and see if they can further assist me. If it turns out this one can't be changed to read the way I want it to, off to the Auction block it goes. Thanks again, Laura and Pete Quote Link to comment
