Just got my new Magellan yesterday, and I d/l'd easy GPS...the problem is when I go to u/l waypoints onto my unit...my screen goes blank and I get a fatal error has occured.... I spoke with the computer people, but they are of no help. SO...in light of this...can I still geocache without loading to my receiver? If so, how? I tried manual, but I seem to be GPS challenged. Guest tedoca Posted November 8, 2001 Share Posted November 8, 2001 Welcome, I can't be of much help with the Easy GPS problem. I downloaded it and it seemed to work ok for me. Could it be weak batteries or possibly a defective GPS unit? Perhaps try deleting Easy GPS and reinstalling? Or maybe the communication settings need to be tweaked? Just a few suggestions. I personally do not use Easy GPS to load my data. I just input everything manualy, it's really not too difficult. Don't know what Magellan unit you have but on my Map330 it's simply a matter of pressing and holding the Mark/Goto button then editing the Lat/Lon using the arrow button and enter key.
