Got my Legend today

Pretty nice GPS, but its doing the same thing my old venture did. The circuit board inside moves around when I push the buttons on the side of the gps. Probably no more than a millimeter or so. Not a huge deal, but you can feel it. My venture did the exact same thing too. I'm not sure if its a problem, or just normal with these. Nothing seems to rattle though when I shake the unit a little.

 

I'm probably just overreacting.

I can feel the same thing - I think it's the contacts in the switch moving.

 

It looks like you're headed down the same path I did.

 

I started wanting a yellow etrex, but before I bought it I found the Venture with the marine points so I bought the Venture. About a year later I needed an eTrex Legend. So I sold the Venture to my brother-in-law and got the Legend.

 

Now, all of the sudden, I need an electronic compass and barometer so I ordered a Vista. Next thing I'm going to need is a dog house.

It's probably better that there's some movement in the unit. If dropped, the cushion will benefit you whereas if there was no give, there'd be more of a chance of damage.
