MapSource Import (Loc-->wpt??)

I just received MapSource and want to import waypoints that I generated via pocket queries. It appears that some conversion must take place. I searched some older posts that mentions other utilities. Is there a way to streamline this process?

You need to use GPSBabel to convert the pocket query file (GPX) to a Garmin PCX5 format. When saving the file, change the extension to 'wpt'.

This works for me.

EasyMPS and GPSBabel are the two games in town. GPSBabel will convert approximately a zillion formats.

 

Unlike T-Mac, I recommend Mapsource *.mps format over PCX5. It's a more capable format. (Both the amentioned programs will handle *.mps just fine.)
