Guest rewster
When you replace the batteries, do you lose the information already stored in the GPS. ?I have a Garmin eTrex. Quote Link to comment
Guest navdog
NO, ANY STORED WAYPOINTS OR MAPS ARE RETAINED BY THE UNIT. Quote Link to comment
Guest ClayJar
Basically, unless they are malfunctioning, all modern GPS receivers keep waypoints and routes and such through battery changes. I know that Magellans store them in non-volatile (i.e. semi-permanent) memory, and the time/satellite info is also kept through battery changes (several minutes at least, and in the case of the Meridians, 12 hours ). Guest JasonW
And 12 hours ought to be enough for even the most ham-fisted to change 2 AA batteries Quote Link to comment
