MysteryLady Posted November 23, 2002 Posted November 23, 2002 Hi everyone, I want to buy a little Etrex for 2 (maybe 3) of my grandchildren for Christmas. We have 2 already hooked and one just interested! Several months ago I saw the Etrex for around $100.00 but now when I look they are $119 or so. Anyone have any good ideas? If I just needed one, I'd spring for it but 2 or 3 are going to get too pricy. Thanks. -- Carol Quote
+chillas Posted November 23, 2002 Posted November 23, 2002 Amazon currently has them for $99. ----- Memory is a prism through which yesterday's light is passed. Quote
+Huga Posted November 23, 2002 Posted November 23, 2002 Gah! You US folks are lucky. Over here in the UK, a basic yellow eTrex will cost between £130 and £160 in the shops (that's roughly $200-$250!). Even after shipping costs, import duty and VAT, it's still cheaper for us brits to buy GPS units from the States. It's not fair -- **Mother is the name of God on the lips of all children** Quote
+Family O Foxes Posted November 26, 2002 Posted November 26, 2002 Thanksgiving ad for Target has yellow eTrex on sale for $89. Black Friday morning only! Quote
MysteryLady Posted November 27, 2002 Author Posted November 27, 2002 I took the first advice and ordered from Amazon last Saturday at $99.00 - free shipping (I got 2). They arrived today. Now do I send them back and buy the $89 ones -- nah, I'd have to pay sales tax and stand in lines -- I think it's worth the extra money. Thanks for all your advice - hope the kids like them. -- carol Quote

Luckily I'm one of the citizens that actually use it.. Quote
