Mr. Big
Hi all, Meriplat arrives tomorrow, according UPS, and it's time to order an SD card. Noticed a pretty good deal on "Kinmax" cards, with some pretty glowing test data about how they're faster than the competition, "waterproof", etc. A 128 card is around $45. Are these what I'm looking for? Is that a good deal? Anyone with any experience/problems with them? Here's the link I found: SD cards Quote Link to comment
+embra
Well, that looks interesting. I've not heard of Kingmax; a Google search turned up a couple of reviews of other memory modules they make. One review thought the memory was acceptable, a second (of another product) dinged it because it didn't test out to their specifications. The numbers on the link you provided look good, but I would consider speed less a factor in a GPS than in something like a camera or MP3 player. If you were going to use the SD card in multiple devices, I might give this card a try (so long as it can be returned/exchanged if it doesn't work in the GPS). If you only need a card for the GPS, I would say look for the cheapest major-brand card you can locate. Max Often wrong but seldom in doubt Quote Link to comment
