Guest seldom
Is there a way I can run the Delorme 3d Topoquads program w/o having to put the dvd into the drive? Can I load it onto my harddrive somehow? This post is not about illegal copying - I own the 3d Topoquads DVD. I just want to use it w/o the dvd. I have tried contacting Delorme they say you can't. I also own TOPO 3 which has Data Manager that allows you to copy Topo 3 to your harddrive, but I have been unable to get it to work with 3d Topoquads. Quote Link to comment

Actually that thread concerned MapSource, not Delorme software. I'm not familiar with the Topo software, but I've used other Delorme products. Check the install disks for a program called osmosis.exe. Copy the data files to a folder on your hard drive, and run osmosis. Also, check the help files for information. Quote Link to comment
Guest Rubberhead
I'm not a computer person, but try to find the .ini file that goes with your software. Make a copy of this file before looking at it or editing it. Look at the .ini file using notepad or wordpad. Look for the path to your DVD drive. If you feel lucky, you can change this path to point to your hard drive. Good luck. If you mess something up, reload your backup .ini file. Quote Link to comment
Guest Geoffrey
I heard that there is a Virtual CD program that is able to port the image of CD-ROMs to your hard drive. here> http://www.virtualcd-online.com/ or try this> http://www.google.com/search?q=Virtual+CD ------------------ http://members.aol.com/geoffr524/myhomepage/howto.html Quote Link to comment
Guest Geoffrey
Remember that a DVD is 4.7 gigabytes and a CD-ROM is 650 megabytes. Quote Link to comment
