Guest Vilks
I'm wondering if any of you use software to add trails/tracks to maps in addition to waypoints & routes. I'm looking for software that'll let me download from my Lowrance & add a trail to a calibrated background map. Just wondering what you all used? Thanks Quote Link to comment
Guest fryed
I use DeLorme's 3D-TopoQuads. Whenever I go out driving or hiking I take my GPS and let it log my track. When I get home I download that track into my 3D-TopoQuads and I can see exactly where I went. The tracks are saved so I can view them any time I want. I'm real happy with the software and the interface. BTW, I use a Garmin GPS12. Quote Link to comment
Guest Vilks
ya I've looked at their product & it seems to be nearly exactly what I was looking for. However after discusions with DeLorme reps it seems that they have no plans at this time to introduce Canadian maps to their software nor have they incorporated a method of importing scanned maps & calibrating them. Which is too bad for those of us outside the US. [This message has been edited by Vilks (edited 02-09-2001).] Quote Link to comment

Guest Truejabber
Hi, Actually, DeLorme does havea program available which allows you to use a scanned map with GPS. It's called GPS MapKit. They no longer have an active page on their site, but I did find this on someone else's site, http://www.geodatasys.com/gpsmapkt.htm which gives a little info. DeLorme still sells it, but you have to call them direct 1-800-452-5931. Quote Link to comment

Guest Digger
Try GPS Utility - at www.gpsu.co.uk/ - it's one of the best GPS data management tools I've seen; and the unregistered version is freeware. Quote Link to comment
Guest Moss Trooper
I am New to Geocaching but not GPSing!! I tried GPSU and decided to register it. I can set up a route in Autoroute 2001 and set stopovers on the route as way points. GPSU reads the Autoroute file directly and uploads it to my Garmin 12. You can register maps quite simply, filter waypoints etc. definitly worth my 18 quid. (18 ponds sterling for those not in the savy ) Happy Foot Slogin! Guest topografix
Hi, We just added Lowrance support to our product line. We'll be introducing a mapping product in June. In the meantime, check out the waypoint management features of our PanTerra product. You can download it at http://www.topografix.com - Dan Foster TopoGrafix (http://www.topografix.com) Software and Waypoints for your Garmin, Magellan, or Lowrance GPS Quote Link to comment
