Guest tak1
Some of you guys might have seen that website where thy guy tells how he "hacked the Trex". He went into the programing and did some stuff. There is also a guy that made his trex run off of C-cell batteries. Any of you reading this post do anything similar? LK Quote Link to comment
Guest Mike_Teague
never saw that site, but making it run off of c-cells is not very difficult.. AAA's, AA's, C's, and D's are all 1.5V cells... put 2 of em in series, and you're good to go... I wonder how long an Etrex would run off of 2 D's anyhow :0 Quote Link to comment
Guest Silver
Should be pretty easy. Buy a 2 D-cell holder from Radio Shack and the connector from Larry's Page. Two wires, two crimps, and voila! Silver Quote Link to comment
Guest Snowtrail
As an ultralight backpacker, I think I'm going to stick to my AA's. Quote Link to comment
Guest soltan
Here is a site with a lot of eTrex info http://members.dingoblue.net.au/~benjaminj/gps/etrexFAQ.htm Quote Link to comment
Guest Manuelcasi
Not sure what your goal is, but if it is to get more battery life try using the pricy yet worth it lithuim AA. You can find them at REI and walgreens. It seems as though the have exdened the battery life in my garmin 12 map by 5 times. Also if you set it to lithuim battery in the set up and save battery mode you get even better results. Quote Link to comment
