+Clinton Baptiste
I'd been considering swapping my Legend for a V for some time now purely for the autorouting function when I'm driving. However, I've just discovered an add-on for the Legend that allows it to autoroute. It's called 'Girlfriend' and they're fairly easy to get hold of in most pubs and clubs in the UK. Not sure what the availability is like in the US. It's not perfect as it takes up a lot of room in the car, it's re-routing ability is fairly slow if you miss a turn, and it often wants me to turn down a road that doesn't exist. But all in all I'm pretty happy with it. It gives voice indications of upcoming turns and generally gets me to where I want to go eventually. I spent a bit extra and got the 'de-luxe' model which includes a drinks holder and gives driving tips along the journey. I can strongly recommend them to all Legend owners. Not sure if they work with any other units Quote Link to comment

ride_bent
I picked up Wife 2.0 11 years ago and it has served me well with the (eTrex Vista) GPS and my 2 laptops with the Delorme Street Atlas and Earthmate GPS attached. You are correct about them taking up space in the vechicle. The also seem to need frequent stops to unload excess fluid build up. Wife 3.0 will have a larger holding tank for sure. +Alan2
What I find interesting is that when I curse about getting me lost, unlike my Vista, my Model 2.0 curses back at me. Alan Quote Link to comment

+Jacksons
iI have noticed that wife 1.0 really talks back when in briars and poision ivy, always tells me I took the wrong route Quote Link to comment
+Gliderguy
Jacksons: I think I have that same add-on. As the cost of going to Wife 2.0 would be prohibitively expensive, I wonder if there is a firmware upgrade to maybe Wife 1.1 that would remedy that particular trait... This thread is potentially dangerous, you know... Quote Link to comment

+Navdog
I have the girlfriend version 12.0. Fortunately, it doesn't have a map database and never has a lock on where it is at so I don't have that rerouting problem. The adventures of Navdog, Justdog, and Otterpup Quote Link to comment
