Guest JollyBGood
I noticed on Garmin's webite they sell a unit-to-unit cable which allows two GPS units to talk to each other and transfer information like waypoints, routes, tracks, etc. My question is how is this done? How do you tell the unit(s) what information to transfer? I can't find any menus or options which even hint that this is possible but if Garmin says it can be done I'm assuming it can. Are such tranfers limited to waypoints and the like? Could I transfer mapdata from one Garmin unit to another? Quote Link to comment
Guest Geoffrey
They got rid of that feature on the GPS V. It was in the Interface menu of the GPS III, where you could transfer data from one unit to the other through the Interface menu in setup. ------------------ My GPS Information Page: http://members.aol.com/geoffr524/myhomepage/howto.html This page has many links about GPS information for the beginner. Guest jfitzpat
FWIW, From what I have deciphered of the undocumented portions of the Garmin protocol, I do not think that unit->unit map exchanges would be practical. -jjf Quote Link to comment
