Metroguide Canada...??

I'm going on a trip to Manitoba next month. I'd like to do some geocaching and exploring with my GPSV.

 

I notice there's a Metroguide Canada from Garmin for 104 bucks.

 

Does anyone know where I can get it used or on the cheap. I hate to spend that kind of money for a weekend outing.

Jolly, don't waste your money. The coverage is very spotty. The Mapsource product you're talking about is a combination of MetroGuide, Roads & Recreation, and Enhanced Base Maps. The MetroGuide only covers Montreal, Vancouver, Toronto, and Ottawa. I just looked at my copy and even the Roads & Recreation doesn't seem to have any more detail in the province of Manitoba. I did see improvements for that province with the Enhanced Base Maps. E-mail me if you would like more information.

Manitoba for the most part doesn't exist in City Select either so forget it. The enhanced base map is probably your best bet although I don't have it yet.

I had placed a bid on a used CD on eBay. Thank god I was outbid. After reading your posts I think I've decided not to waste my money.
