Guest reductch Posted March 25, 2001 Posted March 25, 2001 I have an E-trax and am thinking about purchasing a GPA-02 Antenna from Wolfe's GPS. Does anyone have experience with this antenna or putting an external antenna on a E-tax GPS? Quote
Guest puma Posted March 27, 2001 Posted March 27, 2001 I may be wrong, but I do not believe that the E-trex is compatable with an external antenna, just like my 12 isn't. Quote
Guest Quinnow Posted March 27, 2001 Posted March 27, 2001 didn't I see a post somewhere that Jeremy had this problem? I think he has the same thing and found out he couldn't use another antenna. I don't have that model so am not certain, but you might want to contact him directly to find this out. ------------------ Quinn Stone Rochester, NY.14616 www.Navicache.com Quote

Guest bob_renner Posted March 27, 2001 Posted March 27, 2001 I just checked the product comparison page of http://www.garmin.com and none of the eTrex models have the capability of using an external antenna. The GPS 12 also does not, but all the other 12 (xl, cx, map) do have and antenna input. Bob Quote
Guest fairbank Posted March 27, 2001 Posted March 27, 2001 There is an antenna that will work with any GPS receiver that does not have a jack for an external antenna. It's call the Big Brother Re-radiating Antenna. Run's about $100 It consists of a 30db amplified antenna, a 12-volt cigarette plug to power the antenna, and a re-radiating wand that is placed near the GPS. Guest reductch Posted March 27, 2001 Posted March 27, 2001 If you get a chance take a look at www.gpscables.com. It describes the GPA-02. I would be interested in our thoughts. Quote
