KSJohn
Has anyone seen or used one of these things. Saw one at a NRA banquet last night. This thing is HUGE. Being in a metal building I couldn't turn it on or anything. Looked at the manual (very small & very few pages). Quote Link to comment

This thing is HUGE. Being in a metal building I couldn't turn it on or anything. Looked at the manual (very small & very few pages). I have one for testing my GPS software. The main drawback is that it doesn't have a pixel-based screen - it uses LCD segments like a calculator. This means: no map page and no satellite page. The compass page only points you in one of eight (I think) directions. There are some unique features of the MNS, like the ability to turn off the GPS part and just use the compass. Even when the MNS is turned off, it collects barometric data for weather forecasts. My biased opinion: I don't recommend the Brunton MNS. In my opinion, there are cheaper GPS receivers that do more, have better software support, and have an easier user interface. -- Dan Foster TopoGrafix: GPS Software, Waypoints, and Maps http://www.topografix.com/ Quote Link to comment
