seekerdave
I just discovered that my year and half old Magellan 310 was off by up to a couple of hundred feet. No wonder I couldn't find anything!! Any body know how this is possible? Setup was checked & rechecked, and when compared to a known good unit (successful hunts) mine was way off. Since they are down to about $85, it may not be worth sending in for repair. I just bought a new e-trex venture as a replacement, anyway........ Seekerdave AKA "RF Burns" Quote Link to comment
+coyote1022
I've been told that since the 310 only has two digits after the decimal when entering waypoints, that the accuracy is reduced by approximately 120 feet plus the estimated position error (EPE)already created by the signal from the satelites. Therefore there can be an error as much as a couple hundred feet under certain conditions. We use both a 310 and a 315 in our geocaching adventures. Quote Link to comment
