Guest jeremy
Someone emailed me recently with this question - "Has anyone shipped a GPS while it was on to track the path of the package?" Seemed like an interesting idea. Haven't personally decided to do it yet. Not sure really how well it would work. There'd be some barriers - 1. Battery life (Next Day Air?) 2. Packaging and transportation would cause lousy signals. 3. FedEx/UPS/etc may consider it a bomb? (not sure if they have sensing gear to determine whether electronics are "on". Anyone want to try it and find out? Jeremy Quote Link to comment
Guest rebobbitt
Just make sure you have all beeps turned OFF, otherwise it would attract unwanted attention. I would doubt you would get much on the logs, since most of the time it will not be able to receive signlas, unless you got lucky and it got placed on the upper shelf of a UPS truck (the tops are fiberglass to let light in). If would be a fun test though. Quote Link to comment
Guest Artful Dodger
It wont work as it wont be able to recieve the satelite feeds. Am I wrong? Quote Link to comment
Guest jeremy
That's what I first thought. What if it had a strong antenna though? Jeremy Quote Link to comment

Jeremy That would require an amplified antenna ... and a bigger size power supply. But the signal from the sat. is weak I don't know if that really would help. Quote Link to comment
