Guest jsb
New eTrex Vista user here. I have an eTrex Summit and have had excellent results with it but the new Vista is a real joy to use. The ability to upload MapSource topo maps is very useful as well. One of the things i've been wondering about is what the battery life is with Battery Save mode turned off for use receiving WAAS satellites. Has anyone tested this? Thanks... Guest Hawk-eye
No hard and fast data ... but running it last Saturday ... including 18 minute download of topo maps (GPS in off position) ... I ran it vertually all day ... probably 8 hours (WAAS enabled ... compass off and on). Did about 15 minutes with GPS in the off position up & downloading and right at this moment have about 3/8ths of the battery icon left. Hope that helps ... I have notice that when I get a low battery warning ... the battery shows ... oh, around 1/3 left on the self contained scale (I use the Duracell Ultra's) So far ... I really like this little power house GPS. I've been using for about 2 months and since the 2.15 upgrade ... no bugs to mention. Quote Link to comment
