+mewyn
I'm curious on how many Geocachers out there are Linux, BSD, or other UNIX users, and what software do you use, if any, to load your Geocache waypoints onto your GPS? -- m?wyn dy'ner Quote Link to comment
+Cache Hunter D
I've got a few programs that work, but aren't really useful to me until I figure out how to mount my laptop in my car. Only problem is with all of them, it would be easy to accidentally corrupt your GPS since they don't have any security built into the service. GpsDrive GPS3D GPSMan Hope this helps, -W Quote Link to comment
robertlipe
I use all the UNIX mutants you cite and a number of others. My program GPSBabel was born out of my own desire to shoot Geocache waypoints into my receiver. The conversion thing came later. Quote Link to comment

+oeichler
Not to forget QLandkarte, of course But this will be of great help only if you own a Garmin. Oliver Quote Link to comment
+jabss
Hi I have a couple of explorists. These connect via usb and appear as a normal removable drive on the (k)ubuntu fiesty I'm currently using so I just copy files over. I also use gpsbabel, installed directly from the standard repositories, to convert the loc files from geocaching.com to magellan gs files. I'll do the same for gpx files when I pay up for membership. For maps the magellan programs being m$ only are useless to me so I generated the detail maps once for the whole UK, directrouteEU and topoGB, using a friends windows pc and loaded them onto an sd card. A 2Gb card is easily enough for the whole UK plus loads of waypoint files. Good luck with your gpsr whatever it is jabss Quote Link to comment
