Is there any way to completly erase all date (Maps,Waypoints etc) from my GPS?

You could do a complete re-set of the unit, but why?

 

When you load new maps it overwrites the existing maps.

 

You can delete all the waypoints by pressing Find - Waypoints - By Name and then not entering any letters in the name, just press OK. Then press Menu. You will have the option to delete all waypoints, or just waypoints of a certain type (like, "Geocache" or "Geocache Found.")

 

Of course, none of this is stated in the manual for the GPS V.

When you upload new maps all old maps are erased.

with the unit off press and hold menu and Power.

It sure would be nice to have that 128mb chip in my V. Too bad I'm dumb as a rock when it comes to computers or I'd try it. That and the fact that I don't have another $400 to spend on another unit if things go wrong
