Guest echosgold
Upon entering a wapoint into my Magellan 315 it asks for elevation. Since elevation is unknown, I have always set this to 0000. I am wondering if this is a necessary step? ------------------ Echosgold www.outdoor-dog.com www.outdoor-dog.com/Geocache Quote Link to comment
Guest Iron Chef
Myn Garmin does the same thing, but I've never used it really. Perhaps it only comes in handy when you already know the elevation and so then the unit may take it into consideration when comparing your location to where it thinks the waypoint is (in relation to the sphere of error). Sorry if that was confusing. ------------------ -Iron Chef _ _ _ _ _________ _ _ _ _ agefive.com/geocache/ Lets Drive Fast and Eat Cheese! Quote Link to comment

Echo, do you mean like if you are at home and entering in waypoints for a weekend of geocaching? Or if you are out in the field and saving locations? Quote Link to comment
Guest echosgold
At anytime, upon entering a waypoint that I manually enter, it asks for elevation. I always change it to all zeros. I can run my own tests to see if this is necessary but just thought I would throw it out there to see what others do. ------------------ Echosgold www.outdoor-dog.com www.outdoor-dog.com/Geocache Quote Link to comment
