True Grid
I sent my Vista in to Garmin for repairs, (loose battery connection and sticky click-stick) and noticed it had software version 3.50 when I got it back. There web site says the latest and greatest is version 3.40. Anyone know why? Have they just not got around to posting version 3.50 to their web site yet? +EraSeek
Just a guess, but maybe they put the wrong software in. Last time I did an update for my Garmin Map76, the zip file was labled as Map76 3.70, but the file it contained was actually the Map76S 3.50 file. Maybe they did the same to yours...but I would think it would cause a noticable problem. "See the wonderous works of Providence! The uncertainty of human things!" Geo.Washington Quote Link to comment
apersson850
The 3.50 will probably be on the web in a few days, so it's the correct software for the Vista. Brand new, that's all. If you look at other recent software updates, for other units, you'll notice that there has been minor changes in the internal of these units. That's obviously due for the remaining units too. +webscouter.
I talked with the Garmin software engineer the other day in the park. He said that he would be putting up the new software soon. Only change is that some users on the coast where picking up to many WAAS satelites and messing up their WAAS readings. Quote Link to comment
apersson850
Which park would that be, where you have Garmin engineers strolling around? Anders Quote Link to comment
True Grid
Next time you're in that park tackle one of 'em. I got some questions I want answered. "True Grid" In the Pacific Northwet Quote Link to comment
LarsThorwald
3.50 is up on the Garmin site now. Changes made from version 3.40 to 3.50: Fixed potential memory corruption problem that could occur when tracking more than one WAAS satellite simultaneously. +webscouter.
There is a park just down the street from the Garmin plant here in KC. He was testing some prototype units that aren't released yet. I promised not to give out information on the units he was testing and he let me look at them. Very cool, made me sad that I had just purchased a new unit. I have seen some rumors about the unit that I saw seen on this website. All I can say is very cool. Quote Link to comment
True Grid
A COOL NEW GPS! Let's see.... If I drop and break my cell phone, I can tell her I need a new one. This cool new GPS looks enough like a cell phone to fool my wife, doesn't it? "True Grid" In the Pacific Northwet Quote Link to comment
