Maxine&Me
I just purchased Metroguide. I would like to use this at home and work. With the Unlocking code scheme they use, can I do this or is it licensed per machine? I would only use it for personal use, and would hate to have to buy two copies. I am not asking for a crack, just a clarification. Quote Link to comment
Rubberhead
I called with the same question about BlueChart. I was told that since it is a locked software, that I was allowed to have it on multiple computers. If I were you, I'd send a quick note to chartography@garmin.com and ask them the question. Then you can have tne answer in writing. Ducks - Flying, great tasting, geocaches of meat Quote Link to comment
Maxine&Me
I actually did email them and received an auto response that they will respond in 3-5 business days. Geez! I have the software and I am just dying to install it but if I can only use it one place I'll wait to I get home. Quote Link to comment
wellermj
My take on this for what its worth is that the software is licenced to death against the unit i have (GPSV) so i have it installed on two of my home and one work computer. That way i can load maps when i need them. There is no locking to the PC that i have noticed so far and i have it on three PC's Martin Quote Link to comment
Maxine&Me
The Official Response Thank you for contacting Garmin Cartography. Yes, you can install the CD to as many computers as you'd like. The MetroGuide product is not "locked", so no unlock code will be necessary on either computer. Thank you for your interest in Garmin GPS. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Please include all previous correspondence when replying to this message.
