+infosponge
I recently got a sit-on-top kayak (Scupper Pro TW) for doing water caches around here and I've been out a few times with it and the Meridian and it's been really handy to have the GPS charts. BUT...right now I've just been setting it in the cup holder in front of me vs. having it mounted or tethered. One good spill and I might be GPS-less. The Meridians don't support a lanyard, unless you pop a screw in the back of the power/data connector and attach something that way. A regular fixed mount is likely to be damaged when putting the kayak on top of my jeep. The surface is too rough to support a suction-cup mount. See where I'm headed here? Anybody using a Meridian in these circumstances? How did you secure it? Quote Link to comment
+kbraband
In the message forums at Paddling.net people talk about, among other things, using GPS for paddling navigation. I bet you could get an answer if you post there. Quote Link to comment

+infosponge
I ordered a RAM mount for the Meridian, which can be pop-riveted to the kayak inside the compass well. Since everything except the ball base is removable, it looks like it will work nicely. Quote Link to comment
