Best system for fairly heavy tree cover

Recommended Posts

I have the 3+ and love it. It is known to be very good at holding a lock. I have heard the V is also as good. try not to get one w/ a patch antennia.

-------> Did you ever do any trail maintainence? - if so you will know that all but the most worn trails need continuous maintenance to prevent mother nature from reclaiming it. herd paths are quickly reclaimed - k2dave to a troll

If you wanted to take a peek at something in the upper mid-range area (below the Garmin GPS V, but beside or above it and most others in many respects), take a peek at the Magellan Meridian series.

Now, if you are really comfortable with the Garmin user interface, you'll be awkward at first with Magellan's UI, and you may not like the Meridians at all. Still, in the interest of completeness, you may want to at least take a look at the Meridians. They *do* have a lot of nice features (as do the Garmins).

Really trees, heavy foliage and GPS really don't go together even with lots of $$'s. The more $$'s spent on more accurate type systems the more trees become a problem.

One physical solution to trees icon_biggrin.gif is a chainsaw icon_eek.gif .

Cheers, Kerry.

I never get lost icon_smile.gif everybody keeps telling me where to go icon_wink.gif
