+Freilica Posted June 11 Posted June 11 Hi everyone! Trying to redeem a gift card, it seems I have to stop my recurring membership, and then I will be able to introduce that code. I also know that if you purchase a new Premium membership within 30 days of the expiration of my previous membership, I will get a legacy pricing again. The question is (although I think it's quite dumb, but I want to be sure), if I stop my Premium membership, in order to redeem this gift card, I will stil get a legacy pricing when I had to renew again my membership? I mean, because they only say in case it expires, and I don't know if I stop it on my own, it's considered as something different. Thanks! Quote
+Max and 99 Posted June 11 Posted June 11 It sounds to me like you are stopping your recurring subscription, not stopping your premium membership. You should be good! Get some other responses before you take action. Quote

TLDR, you're good with legacy as long as you renew before your membership expires. In 2023 my GIFF film entry was a finalist in that year's film festival. I had recurring legacy pricing for premium, and one of my prizes for the film festival was one year of premium membership. The previous times my film was a finalist film, they just tacked on a year to my account, but in 2023 they gave me a gift card. So to use it I had to stop my automatic renewal and manually add the gift card, which wasn't ideal and I let them know for next time. But as long as I keep renewing on time, I still get legacy pricing. I just have to make sure I pay attention now. ETA: you're not stopping your premium membership to add the gift card, you're stopping the automatic renewal of your premium membership at legacy pricing. You can still get legacy pricing, you just have to renew manually. It's a very poor system that's in place. Edited June 11 by GeoElmo6000 Quote

Think of it as the current debit/credit card you use will expire before renewal. All you are doing is replacing the 'old card' with a 'new card' to continue paying for Premium Membership. It just happens to be a Gift Card. @Freilica 1 Quote
