+GeoElmo6000 Posted June 11 Posted June 11 Is it possible to disown a trackable that has gone missing? For example, I have no need for TB56PQ7 to stay on my list of owned trackables, as it disappeared 9 years ago. TIA Quote

Usually each TB comes with two metal plates, if you still keep one of those, why don't you add it to another trinket and let it continues the journey? You can also create a proxy, if both of the plates have now gone... Edited June 17 by RuideAlmeida 1 1 Quote

I have five missing trackables, four of which I'm willing to adopt over to you if you really want them for the tracking codes. Let me know. The other I'd like to keep because it fulfilled its mission to go to a certain place and take photos at places I asked for, but disappeared afterward. 1 Quote
+The A-Team Posted June 12 Posted June 12 I have a bunch of missing trackables in my collection. I treat them the same as my archived caches: they once existed, but the listings now just show the historical record of them. 1 1 Quote
+little-leggs Posted June 17 Posted June 17 I'm confused the TB has a code - re use it make a proxy coin / Tag set it free again so it can get lost again 2 Quote
+sabinacollins Posted June 28 Posted June 28 i just learned something, i have a few TB that were kept by people or stolen out of caches, i didnt know you could recapture and then resend or proxy the TB number... why is this not told to us? might want to add that its likely a great idea to record the TB tag number and keep in a safe place if sending out the "back up" tag, my guess might be to proxy instead!! This is amazing!! +hzoi Posted June 30 Posted June 30 (edited) If I adopted out all the coins and TBs I've set loose that went missing, I'd go from owning 274 to, like, 40. (I was WAY into coins and trackables when we started. Not as much these days.) Just set 'em as missing and move on with life. Edited July 1 by hzoi 1 Quote
+qqnonrev Posted July 8 Posted July 8 We wait a few years, and then make a proxy to take its place in the journey. So far we haven't had an issue where the original has turned up again. Some we have re-released several times.. Quote

One (or both) of the finders will contact me, very confused. I explain and then tell one of them to just trash the one they have. Quote
